All security personnel of International Security Affiliates in California are certified and registered with the State of California, BSIS Department (Bureau of Security and Investigative Services). When a new applicant is interested in employment with ISA, the applicant must present a California issued BSIS registration card. The California BSIS Department verifies all issued licenses. This procedure includes a complete criminal background check on all new applicants/employees.
New ISA applicants are required to prepare a standard ISA application, as well as other documentation. Candidates are required to bring the following detailed information; a CA/SS identification Card, they must meet Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) requirements for proof of employment eligibility (i.e., material for Form I-9), drug and substance form, educational diplomas, advanced security certifications, and other documentation that will assist HR in evaluating their application.
Once the application is completed, ISA Director of Operations reviews it. Upon completion of reference and background checks, only the most qualified applicants are scheduled for an interview. Questions including those dealing with convictions, employment history, or character references during the interview, the candidate's grooming, personal appearance, and verbal skills are evaluated.
In addition to evaluating the candidate with respect to rejection and acceptance criteria, ISA Director of Operations will evaluate such intrinsic factors as responsible actions, self-discipline, honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness. These factors will also be considered when evaluating those applicants who are finally accepted for employment with A*ISA
